Garden of the Gods!

I was up in the mountains of Western North Carolina this past weekend for a wedding and decided to do some sightseeing on Sun. before coming home. The little lady and I drove over to the West Fork of the Pigeon River to have a look at the Garden of the Gods. WOW!!! That is some STEEP SHIZZLE!!! Here are some pics:

Apparently it's been run before about a decade or so ago by a guy named Chip Collins. He ran it thinking that a couple other guys had been on it before. But they both said they hadn't. And no one has run it since. What you can see from the bridge upstream looks like a bunch of big slides and fairly clean drops. But below the bridge it turns into a full-on manky shitfest! Chip Collins said that attempting a run here is "playing with your life"! I believe it!
